Summary of Responsibilities
Under the Catalyst mission of advancing women through workplace inclusion, the Community & Convening team is responsible for Catalyst events and webinars which raise nearly one third of Catalyst’s operating budget and serve as the convening authority for audiences committed to progress for women in the workplace. Events showcase Catalyst’s thought leadership, elevate visibility for our Supporters, and connect the Catalyst corporate community with one another and to advance our mission. This is a crucial time for women in the workplace and you will join an organization that is at the forefront of helping organizations create workplaces where women and everyone can thrive. We are looking for a talented Director, Event Content that will join a passionate and determined team, where you will be responsible for designing and delivering compelling and actionable content tailored to each community we serve.


Essential Functions

  • In partnership with the Community & Convening team and Corporate Engagement, Research and other departments, develop content plans for Catalyst events to meet goals and outcomes for key audiences
  • Develop calendar of events to reinforce organization strategic priorities and support content execution of events from conception to completion
  • Create comprehensive event speaker sourcing, prepping, and tracking system
  • Identify future-looking topics and secure and build relationships with compelling, market-leading speakers
  • Schedule and lead calls with C-level executives and speakers
  • Design creative and interactive session formats, and analyze attendee feedback across events to measure success
  • Develop materials that support event content such as PowerPoint decks, handouts, interactive components, speaker profiles, presentation abstracts, invitations, stage scripts etc.
  • In partnership with the Community & Convening team - design agendas for signature events and manage content project plans
  • Evaluate content quality of events to achieve continual improvement


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years’ experience managing event content
  • Previous events industry experience is highly preferred
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, trends in women’s advancement and diversity and inclusion with a demonstrated ability to learn new subject matter quickly and high intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Ability to synthesize and distill research into actionable content
  • Ability to represent Catalyst in a clear, effective, and professional manner
  • Enthusiasm, confidence, a strong professional work ethic and strong business acumen
  • Ability to establish and build relationships with high-profile business executives
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to function effectively in a team-based environment as well as independently and with colleagues across varying departments and job levels
  • Proven track record managing multiple project responsibilities and meeting deadlines
  • Deadline-driven, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and limited turnaround time, especially close to event dates
