Summary of Team

Catalyst Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) provides EMEA-specific, creative solutions promoting organizational inclusion and workplace innovation to Catalyst supporters. The team is looking to hire a Senior Director role working remotely on the EMEA team.


Summary of Responsibilities

As part of a growing global supportership structure, the Senior Director plays a key role

in ensuring that Catalyst’s European operations are aligned with rest of the global

organization. The individual is responsible for developing a regional corporate outreach

strategy, recruiting new supporter organizations, managing a portfolio of existing supporter organizations, and leading the development and delivery of regional supporter services and events.

The Senior Director builds relationships with corporate and professional supporter organizations, senior executives, the media, and other key stakeholders. This individual leads strategic growth and engagement of supporter organizations in Europe.


The Senior Director (SD) will play a lead role, alongside the Executive Director, in business development activities. The SD will be responsible for identifying and generating “leads” across EMEA that can then be passed along to fellow Relationship Managers to further develop and close.  Activities would include identifying regions, industries and specific companies that are showing an indication of need/want in DEI development and would be accomplished through active tracking in media (mainstream and industry-specific), staying abreast of proposed legislative and regulatory changes, and conferring with colleagues in other regions to generate ideas.  It would also include working with colleagues to develop convening opportunities, bringing together Supporter companies and prospects, so that the prospects can experience Catalyst’s work in action.


Experience in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is necessary for this role. The candidate should be able to function in an untraditional and creative work environment and possess strong customer service skills, a high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to forge “virtual” relationships with both clients, prospects and team members, is also vital. 


The responsibilities will also include the following:

  • Ability to take initiative in lead generation, cold calling, as well as tracking trends
  • Natural curiosity to inquire across trends, but also explore potential pockets of opportunity to grow the supporter base
  • Serve as a Relationship Manager and effectively oversee a portfolio of accounts across the EMEA region varying in company size, industry, and focus
  • Update Salesforce database and records: engagement tracking, interaction notes and account administration, as well as lead generation
  • Work cross-functionally across all Catalyst teams to effectively manage supporter expectations and deliver on goals


Develop Expertise

  • Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of Catalyst supporter benefits, research, and services
  • Establish virtual communities to initiate dialogue, share best practices, and build virtual engagement across functions and geographies
  • Support successful convening events in the region


Education, Knowledge and Skills

  • Undergraduate degree and/or a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience desirable
  • Fluency in the English language(oral and written); other European languages are a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of Catalyst research, tools, case studies, learning/advisory services offerings (or ability to acquire knowledge early in role)
  • Passion for and knowledge of gender equity, diversity and inclusion is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of and commitment to customer service, and a professional demeanor
  • High level of computer literacy in a networked Windows environment, including database management and word processing/pc skills (knowledge of Salesforce, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook a plus)
  • Highly responsive in fast-paced, client-centered environment
